Through Bolts have a tapered wedge and sleeve at the end of a length of thread. When tightened the sleeve expands to grip in the concrete. They are commonly used to fix handrails, park benches, shelters and other similar items into concrete.
Through Bolts work by expansion which makes them ideally suited for use in concrete. If you are fixing into softer materials such as bricks or blocks we would suggest the use of screw bolts, which are a stress free fixing.
The drill diameter required for the hole is the same as the bolt size - for example an M10x75 Through Bolt would require the use of a 10mm drill.
