Ratchet Tie Downs
Ratchet straps, or ratchet tie-downs to give them their proper name, should be used for lashing down loads. They should never be used for lifting – this is not what they are made or rated for.
Our ratchet straps consist of a 100% polyester strap with a ratchet and two J hooks.
They are available in 3 different lashing capacities – 1 ton, 3 Ton and 5 Ton. Somewhat confusingly, the actual lashing capacity is half of the load that is stated i.e. a 3 Ton ratchet strap should be used to secure a load that is no greater than 1.5 tons (1500kg). All of our tie downs come with a safety label.
Note – you should never tie a knot in a ratchet tie-down. This is a common error that compromises the efficiency and safety of the tie-down.
