R Clips

R Clips are essentially a metal retaining pin shaped like the letter R. Made from a hard wire, they are used to secure shafts, axles and clevis pins in position.

The straight leg of the R clip is pushed through the hole in the shaft and is held in position by the sprung semi-circular shaped leg of the “R” which rests on the outside of one side of the shaft.

The large round loop of the “R” is used to insert and remove the clip.

For more demanding applications we also stock a double coil version featuring an additional coil in the large loop of the “R”.
