Our flap discs are available in zirconia blue. They are commonly used for grinding, shaping, smoothing and the removal of weld on metal. Zirconia, or zirconia aluminia to give it its proper name, is a type of abrasive crystal that can withstand extremes of temperature and pressure.

Flap discs are often used as a second stage abrasive following initial treatment with a grinding wheel. The main advantage of a flap disc is that it can be used as both an abrasive and a finishing tool depending upon the amount of pressure being applied by the operator.

Flap discs are less likely to leave heat marks than a grinding disc as they operate at a lower temperature. They are also safer to use, with no chance of fragments flying off.

Our flap discs are available in P40 coarse grit or P80 medium grit.
