Often abbreviated to Hex Head, Pin Hexagon Heads are found on most common bolts and set screws (as this is a six-sided head that requires a socket or spanner to fasten). Button heads are a type of low profile, domed head and make excellent Security Machine Screws, where they are commonly found.
You can also use a tool called a nut spinner or nut driver to fasten a hexagon head – this is effectively a screwdriver with a socket head instead of a blade or Posi drive end. Please note that these products can sometimes be referred to as Flanged Button Head Screws, Button Head Cap Screws, and Socket Button Head Screws.
Our Button Head Screws all have a pin located in the middle of the drive to prevent removal with standard tools. There is a choice of Pin Hexagon or Pin Resistorx 6 lobe drive and are are available in a stainless-steel finish.
Why use Security Screws?
Security Screws are machine bolts that are generally used to deter removal (often for safety purposes) or to prevent theft. They are commonly found in public conveniences, schools, prisons; on cars, boats, public transport; and in electrical items.
