An Introduction To Decking Screws (Video)
In the video below, we discuss decking screws; detailing the finish, sizes available and how to use them in suitable applications.
What are Decking Screws?
Decking Screws are a type of wood screw that feature a countersunk head. Their most common use is for fixing timber decking to wooden joists. They can be used for a variety of timber-to-timber applications, particularly where a flush surface is required.
Why should I use Decking Screws?
Decking Screws are specifically designed to enable fast installation and a secure fastening. They have ribs under the screw head which help with countersinking, and feature a sharp point at the end which helps with quick fastening and improved thread acceptance.
Our Decking Screws feature a green organic finish, which helps to prolong the life of the screw by making it resistant to extreme weather and corrosion. They can also be recessed and filled over if a hidden fixing is needed for your project.
Additionally, Decking Screws have a deep single thread design. This will enable you to install your fixings as precisely as possible. This design also helps to reduce wood splitting, even when you are fastening the screws close to the edge of your timber.
Our Decking Screws are available in a variety of different lengths between 40mm and 200mm (1½”- 8”), and are made of high-quality steel. They feature either countersunk or in dex hex heads.
